Manufacturing Engineer -- Lean, Solidworks 
Job Description:

Our client has a need for a permanent Manufacturing Engineer with a background in planning, directing and coordinating manufacturing processes in an industrial plant. Solidworks ability is required and PLC programming experience is a plus. This position is for local candidates only. 

Skills Required:

This person will have the following responsibilities on a daily basis: 

 

Project Management:

Engineer manages projects from start to finish. 

Creation of justification with supporting data, authors Expenditure Proposal, manages expenditures, directs/coordinates resources (internal maintenance/vendors/etc…), establishes timeline (Gantt chart), ensures appropriate capabilities of process meet customer requirements, integrates project into manufacturing (layout, capacity, capability, etc.), provides support in the integration and on-going operation.

 

Continuous Improvement:

Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods.  Involved wit

evaluating current operations by collecting data (OEE).  Assess available

technology and status of current equipment/process; provide recommendations

and lead implementation of improvements.

Incorporate Lean Manufacturing techniques to improve Safety, Quality

Delivery, Inventory, and Cost metrics while reducing lead times. 

 Participates in the development of long-term strategy by employing different

technologies, maintaining, and improving existing process/equipment.  Capital

expenditure suggestions generated to meet strategic objectives.

 

Process/Equipment Support:

Provides support to daily operations by monitoring key characteristics in the process.  Supports systems for stable operations (spare parts, maintenance activities, operator training, etc…)

Lead troubleshooting efforts in daily operations.  Coordinate personnel, purchasing, and vendors to solve problems.  Develop solutions to prevent recurrence.

Supports Finance department with information regarding costing.  Cycle time, material usage, affectivity, and man-hour loading are some potential requests.  Supports planning with providing alternative routings and increase flexibility of equipment.

Support manufacturing   by providing training or re-training when new or upgraded technologies are deployed.

Responsible for defining, communicating, maintaining, operating process parameters for all machines in the scope of functional assignment.

Manufacturing Engineer -- Lean, Solidworks 
Job Description:

Our client is in need of a Manufacturing Engineer with a background in providing sustaining engineering and technical support to production, operations and service.  Develop and implement the documentation, methods and training required to maintain the most effective and efficient procurement, assembly, testing, and servicing of the product.  Provide timely and effective hands on problem resolution. Utilize Lean Manufacturing concepts and techniques to focus on continuous improvement opportunities, cost and cycle time reduction and fast corrective change. This person will ensure proper revision assembly documentation is developed, made available to and utilized by operations; i.e., BOM's, assembly prints, schematics, and purchase specifications. Review engineering changes and help estimate quality, cost and time impact on material and labor, manufacturing procedures, material handling and storage requirements. Assist with product structure creation, organization and maintenance. Write and maintain product manuals, work instructions, test reports and technical briefs that communicate product and process requirements. 

Skills Required:
  • Help create and apply appropriate process control methods such as control plans, identifying critical control points and developing and validating work instructions. Define, interpret, and classify quality characteristics for new products and processes. Help train personnel and implement improvements to the build sequence, assembly and test methods.
  • Support first article build, test and inspection functions. Help identify and integrate inspection and testing of critical parts and or sub-assemblies into the build process. Aid in trouble-shooting NCP from suppliers, floor and field returns. Utilize sound material identification and segregation techniques for NCP control. Define, describe, and classify the seriousness of product and process defects. Work with relevant functions to help communicate and disposition NCP.
  • Review and participate in design reviews, verification / validation plans, protocols and activities. Critique designs for ease of manufacturability. Work with purchasing to help coordinate and make decisions on supplier qualification, make/buy, outsourcing, supplier quality and product transition (phase-in / phase-out). Coordinate with NPD to support introduction and transition activities. 
  • Provide input into factory layout, workspace utilization, safety and product flow. Help define and implement the most safe and effective use of tooling, fixtures and test equipment. Help identify, describe, and apply metrology techniques such as calibration systems to ensure traceability to known standards. Select and describe appropriate uses of MMD's and integrate requirements into control plans.

Job Description:

Our client is in need of an Electrical Engineer with experience in analog and digital circuits, sensing and control systems, and microcontroller firmware design.  Qualifications: 

  • High volume consumer electronics / appliances experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of Cad design tools such as OrCAD or Pads schematics capture, PCB layout and Spice simulation or others
  • Proficiency with C or assemble for micro controller firmware development
  • Experienced with PIC microcontroller & other sensor circuit are desirable

Packaging Engineer 
Job Description:

The successful candidate for this position will be directly involved in the mechanical design, development, installation, and start up of packaging equipment and related automation applications.  In addition the candidate will be responsible for installation and qualification of upgrades to existing packaging equipment.  The candidate will also be involved in developing concepts, building prototypes, testing/validating new technologies, and working with vendors and suppliers.

Responsibilities:

  • Development and qualification of new manufacturing processes.
  • Develop and recommend new concepts and approaches to improve equipment and product reliability and quality.
  • Oversee design, manufacture, assembly, development and certification testing of new equipment and upgrades to existing equipment.
  • Responsible for the implementation of new packaging equipment designs, modifications, and upgrades.
  • Technical responsibility for the qualification of automated packaging equipment and processes.
  • Establish operating equipment specifications.
  • Design and conduct lab experiments to support new machine and/or product development programs.
  • Interact with company engineers, designers, technicians, suppliers, and management.
  • Provide technical consultation to customers for existing production line problem investigation.
  • Ability and willingness to frequently and safely use appropriate test equipment, power tools, and material handling equipment.
Skills Required:
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5 years minimum experience in machine design and development of manufacturing processes.
  • 5-10 years experience as a project/mechanical engineer in a production or OEM environment.

Job Description:

The Project Engineer will take the lead role in development activities for consumer small appliance and / or components being sourced in Asia - Pacific and will be responsible for the completion of projects in accordance with the agreed upon schedules, performance goals and cost targets. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to:

·         Be a technical leader and team player with the ability to develop and maintain win - win relationships with all stake holders.

·         Create robust engineering solutions for complex products involving mechanical, thermal, electrical, software and system perforn1ance relationships.

·         Creatively resolve technical issues that can be implemented on a mass production scale. Production quantities greater than 700K units / year.

·         Identify, develop and maintain a comprehensive product / component specification set that meets  internal expectations and describes the product /component performance parameters to contract manufacturing partners.

·         Communicate the product / component requirements clearly and succinctly to all stake holders.

·         Champion and coordinate the achievement of development milestones

·         Monitor and communicate development status with stake holders

·         Understand and enable product / components to obtain regulatory approvals in a timely manner.

·         Develop and negotiate project schedules with stake holders.

  
Skills Required:

·         BS Degree in Mechanical

Job Description:

Our client is in need of a Sr. Process Engineer who will be responsible for the investigating and development of new products, technologies, and process improvements.  This will include the development of new process concepts and technologies via technology searches, laboratory testing, pilot testing and process scale-up/design transfer activities.  Coordinates the scale-up, implementation, validation and technology transfer of new products and processes to commercialization. 

·         Designs, specifies and tests equipment required to manufacture products. 

·         Prepares specifications for new equipment and coordinates start-up and validation activities.  Prepares operating procedures for new equipment and processes.

Skills Required:

Requires a BS/MS degree in Chemical, Biochemical, or Pharmaceutical Engineering or related scientific field from a top US university, with a 7-10 years experience in a cGMP regulated environment.  Knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment, process and systems, including aseptic processing, terminal sterilization techniques.  Knowledge of pharmaceutical/Medical device packaging design and materials.  Knowledge of equipment fabrication techniques, cost estimation, and practical ability to review and create engineering drawings required.
