Design Engineering Manager

Our client, a US division of a global leader, is growing and is seeking to add a motivated and talented Design Engineering Manager to their team.

Responsibilities will include:

• Direct and manage a team of engineers in new design, redesign and drafting efforts of precision fabrication equipment.
• Implement standards and practices including the incorporation of new documentation and organization tools to prepare for our client’s further growth.
• Develop metrics for project costing and time estimates
• Responsible for higher level developmental projects, engineering support activities and cross-functional coordination of projects.
• Work closely with sales and production to meet the needs of internal and external customers.
• Support the company and its growth efforts as needed.
• Time manage projects and employees to meet deadlines
• Report on a regular basis to the president
• Synchronize best practices with other division

Background profile:

• Approximately 10 years in industry with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
• 5+ years in a leadership role with project management experience in a matrixed environment.
• Automated equipment design experience required. Experience designing equipment for a precision fabrication processes a plus.
• SolidWorks, SAP and PDM skills required.
• Quality and Lean manufacturing experience a plus
