Process Development Engineer

Our client, a successful technology development and commercialization firm, is seeking a Process Development Engineer to join their team. In this role you will develop chemical process solutions and designs for their clients who come from a range of industries such as electronics advanced materials, energy systems, specialty chemicals, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals.

Responsibilities will include:

• Define and execute chemical process development projects
• Select, specify, and purchase lab and pilot equipment for unit operations testing
• Provide process engineering design deliverables as part of engineering design teams PFDs, M&EBs, PIDs, equipment and instrument specifications, process controls
• Develop chemical engineering calculations and models as required to evaluate experiments and scaled-up designs
• Document work products through reports, presentations, engineering drawings, specifications, process design packages

Background profile:
• Strong experience in hands-on chemical process development and design (3 to 10 years)
• Excellent at applying chemical engineering fundamentals (reactions, heat and mass transfer, separations) using calculations and models
• Ability to prioritize and multitask; capable of working on multiple projects
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; customer facing
• Great working in teams, both in company and with clients and partners
