Product Manager – Electric Products

Our client is seeking a Product Manager – Electric Products to be responsible for the management of various product segments within the their electric product portfolio. The Product Manager – Electric Products will understand the competitive space and associated customer needs and generate cohesive product strategies and roadmaps to grow the business. The Product Manager will work closely with engineering, sales, marketing, and operations to create feasible business plans and ensure that differentiated products are brought to market. This includes management of the product lifecycle, gathering of customer requirements, and working with sales and marketing to launch new products.

Responsibilities will include:
• Product Segmentation Management of our client’s Electric Product Portfolio – Strategic planning through daily maintenance
• Conduct market research to understand customer requirements and trends in the North American market
• Understand competition through marketing analysis of competitive products (including features, pricing, and position)
• Monitor and model key financial aspects and competitive positions of the portfolio and recommend product and pricing actions to grow revenue and profitability of the portfolio
• Marketing liaison to New Product Development (NPD) team
• Product Marketing Specification creation in coordination with engineering, sales, and operations
• Product literature technical content review (Specifications, submittals, manuals, etc.)
• Product Information Management (PIM), per assigned product line
• Remain up to date on regulatory activities and safety requirements, at the national, state, and local levels
• Assist in product launch planning and deployment
• Assist in training support for new product release

Background profile:
• B.S. in product management, business or an engineering discipline. MBA preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of product management of manufactured goods within the plumbing and/or HVAC industry, including heat pump technology.
• Knowledge of commercial electric boilers & water heaters, air-to-water heat pump water heaters and space heating heat pumps
• Ability to understand mechanical HVAC and domestic hot water systems
• Superior communication skills, both written and verbal
• Excellent teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision to achieve objectives
• Ability to prioritize, juggle multiple projects, and meet deadlines
• Proficient in Microsoft Office including PowerPoint
• Comfort in working with individuals in and outside of the company at all levels
• Occasional travel required both domestic and international (up to 25% annually)
