Senior Development Engineer – Electrical / Computer Engineering

Our client is seeking a Senior Development Engineer to assume an important leadership role in their new product development process by developing original design concepts, prototype products and manufacturing-friendly designs.
Responsibilities will include:
• Formation of original design concepts and development of prototypes in our client’s Engineering Laboratory
• Bringing new products to full production release with manufacturability, cost control, and quality
• Collaboration with other engineers, lab technicians, and designers to effectively manage long-term boiler, heat pump and integrated control platform development projects, as well as short-term sustaining change process
• Extensive programming skills in PLC based systems, C+, C++ and other languages
• Strong familiarity with communication protocols such as BacNet, CTA-2045, Lon Works etc.
• Coordination with manufacturing, purchasing, sales, and marketing personnel
• Project manager role with responsibility for timelines, budgets, and stage gate process
• Participates in market research efforts, “Voice Of The Customer” programs, and competitive market data analysis as required by project demands
Background profile:
• Minimum of BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering
• 10+ years of design and testing experience
• Experience in combustion, heat transfer, condensing furnace / boiler / heating and/or heat pump / chiller based system design
• Knowledge of DOE residential and commercial consumer product certification and rating standards
• Project management and DFM (design for manufacturing) experience
• Strong organizational and data analysis abilities
• Excellent written, oral and presentation skills
• Team-focused personality required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
• Ability to travel as needed, up to several times per year
• Solidworks, AutoCad, CFD, and Microsoft Project experience required
• Must possess working knowledge of electrical systems, including electrical load & wire sizing, transformer applications, low & high voltage control panels
