Our growing client is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join their team. The main function of this role will be managing the transfer and set up of a new production line as well as a small group of engineers and designers. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for the implementation and operation of production systems including methods, instructions, tools and equipment as well as efficiencies and improvements. Additional responsibilities will include designing, evaluating and implementing manufacturing processes and also analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements and equipment layout. To be successful the right candidate must have the ability to design testing methods and establish standards to assure product and process quality and they must also be able to calculate production labor and material costs, review production schedules and estimate future requirements.
Additional Responsibilities:
• Train manufacturing methodologies including development and control of written work instructions
• Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements
• Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
• Manage production transfers from sister organizations or external producers
• Serve as the main technical resource on manufacturing shop floor
• Serve as the main technical liaison between local and international factories
• Assist with Purchasing and Quality Assurance in the qualification of suppliers and subcontractors
• Support the organization in the diagnosis and resolution of acute product failures
• Generate and implement Engineering Change Orders (ECO’s) to reduce cost, improve manufacturability, replace discontinued parts/materials, enhance performance/reliability/quality
• Maintain ISO 9001 procedures relative to Design Control, possesses responsibility for conformance of design and documentation processes to defined procedures
• Serve on the Material Review Board
Background Profile:
• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years related experience in either a Manufacturing, or Processes Engineering environment and at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity
• Well-organized, analytical, data driven, and results oriented
• Experience and competence with MS Office products and other analysis software tools
• Experience with CAD / SolidWorks
