Our client is seeking an experienced Technical Sales Lead who can expand opportunities within the existing customer base by identifying customer needs and forging new sales pathways. This sales leader strategically transforms customer problems into new business.
Responsibilities will include:
• Build credible relationships as effective problem solvers for customers in a “design win” sales environment
• Ability to develop our client’s technical and operational strength into an effective sales strategy which opens new opportunities in existing and adjacent customer ecosystems
• Strategically grow sales through current customer base by identifying new opportunities and applications
• Build inroads and relationships with key decision makers (Engineering Managers, Directors of Engineering)
• Maintain book of business through CRM, ensuring integration with marketing communication efforts to increase awareness of our client’s capabilities
• Successfully manage sales work flow, including quoting, ensuring planned follow ups and leveraging relationships
• Partner with sales and marketing team to capture and advance opportunities
Background profile:
• 5-10 years of experience in technical sales
• 5+ years of process engineering, chemical engineering, or physical engineering experience
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or the equivalent
• Must have experience in a highly regulated industry, and selling into highly regulated market
• Excellent understanding of the benefits and constraints of Quality Management Systems (ISO-9001, AS9100, IS)-14385) on the sales business process
• Requires a sales engineering “design win” based background, with excellent technical communication skills throughout the design and process product life cycle development phases
• 5+ years Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Access
• 5+ years working with an ERP system
• Organized systems thinker
• Engaged, active listener who exhibits curiosity about customer needs, who has the ability to align our client’s strength to possible solutions
• Proven track record as an effective technical sales leader in a growing company
• Committed to working in a collaborative, team-based environment
• Superior critical thinking and complex problem-solving abilities
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Skilled in organizational efficiency, making sure customer related activities are completely in a timely manner, meeting customer and business needs.
