Contractors are W-2 employees of TRIAD Engineering, so you are only responsible for one hourly rate – we are responsible for payroll taxes, state & federal unemployment insurance, workers compensation insurance, professional liability insurance, and benefits. In this way, our contract staffing services allow you to minimize employment-related costs, while enjoying complete flexibility in your technical staffing decisions.
How it works
When they call, most of our clients need an engineering contractor in place as soon as possible – sometimes within a couple of days. We enjoy the challenge of finding great candidates for tough project requirements! Many times our clients don’t have a formal job description for their contract need, which is just fine as we can obtain the information we need from a discussion with the hiring manager or human resources representative.
Once we have an understanding of the responsibilities and background requirements for the contract position, we will be able to provide you with feedback based on our in-depth knowledge of the local job market. We will provide an assessment of current local market conditions both in terms of candidate availability and hourly bill rates.
Our sourcing efforts will begin immediately. As we have been placing engineering professionals on contracts for over four decades in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island, we have an extensive database of local engineers / designers / drafters / R&D technicians / engineering support staff. This resource allows us to rapidly identify and contact candidates with your desired experience.
Everything moves quickly with a contract placement. You can generally expect to see resumes of screened and qualified candidates within 24 hours, and you are free to handle the interview phase as you wish. Some clients are comfortable hiring a contractor after a phone interview and our successful completion of professional reference checks. More commonly, clients elect to meet with a few candidates at their facility and make a decision based on these in-person interviews.
When we send a resume for review, we will include the candidate’s hourly bill rate. This bill rate is all inclusive and is the only cost (direct or indirect) you will have with respect to the candidate. Should you elect to hire a contractor, we will invoice you weekly based solely on the number of hours the contractor worked, and you approved, for the previous week.
For all of our contractors, we speak with professional references, verify degrees and run a criminal background check.
Contract assignments for engineering professionals typically last from a couple of months to well over a year. Although not a requirement, most of our clients provide us with a week or two notice when the contract is coming to an end. This enables us to attempt to find a follow-on assignment for the contractor.
